Cobley’s Building is located on Cobley’s Corner (corner of Gaskill and Blatchford streets) in the peaceful NSW village of Canowindra. This impressive building watches over nearly all the comings and goings in the town centre, Canowindra pub, Servicemen’s Club and Memorial Park.

Built in 1913 by William Cobley as a General Merchants Store, Cobley’s Building was the first to have electricity in town. It has seen different businesses come and go. Most recently its function includes a medical clinic and IT store. Many people sit in its shade and comfort on the bench under its awning. It gives an air of solidarity, history, and safety.

I’ve tried to capture the life and activity that occurs around Cobley’s Building.
