Description
The Darling River runs for over 1400kms and is the third longest river in Australia. Having traveled along and across the river many many times I have seen it flowing full as well as bone dry and everything in-between. Overall the river is considered to be in poor health due human influence as well as prolonged periods of drought. These paintings capture the Darling River story in times of serious drought. The Dying of the Darling paintings reflect the colours, heat and intensity of drought.
